Why Do I Get the Error "Failed to Publish Pathway"?

You may encounter one or more errors while creating your Pathways. Here are some of the common ones, and tips on how to tackle them!

This feature is available on our Connect and Growth Plans.

Why can't I publish my Pathway?

If you see the 'Pathway Errors' warning message when trying to publish your Pathway, you won't be able to publish it until these errors are resolved.

All the errors will be shown in the Error Panel located at the top-left of the page. You can click on each error for a brief description of what is wrong, and to see which nodes the errors are occurring in.

"The number of required optional items can't be equal or exceed the number of available optional node items"

This error indicates that a number equal to or higher than the available optional node items has been set in the Options settings.

To fix this error click on it to highlight the affected node, then click on the node to open its settings on the right of the page and set the correct number of required optional items. Remember to hit Save:

"Duplicate group in the same node"

As the message says, this error occurs when you select the same group more than once in your Pathway.

To fix this issue, click on the three dots at the right of the duplicated group you want to remove, then select Delete. Save your changes, then you are ready to publish your Pathway!
