Some apps on Zapier are considered 'Premium Apps'. These are exclusive apps that are available to users on paid Zapier plans only.

What triggers and actions are supported?
A trigger is an event that starts a Zap, an action is an event a Zap performs. Accredible can provide triggers to create an action in a connected app, or an event in a connected app can trigger an action in Accredible.
Accredible Triggers:
Accredible Actions:
- Create a Credential
Trigger from connected app creates a new certificate or badge in Accredible. - Update Credential
Trigger from connected app updates a certificate or badge in Accredible. - Find Groups
Trigger from connected app finds a group in Accredible. - Delete Credentials
Trigger from connected app deletes a certificate or badge in Accredible. - Find Credentials
Trigger from connected app finds a certificate or badge in Accredible. - Create Evidence - Transcript
Trigger from connected app creates a transcript evidence item.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
When connecting your Accredible account to Zapier, you will need your Accredible API Key. Here is how to find it: How Do I Find My Integration API/Consumer Key?
Creating a Zap
Once you have signed up for Zapier you are ready to create your first Zap! The example in this article utilizes the "New Record" event in AirTable to trigger the "Create Credential" action in Accredible.
However, please note that setup will differ slightly depending on which platform you are choosing to integrate with Accredible, and whether you are using Accredible to provide a trigger or an action.
If you require assistance in setting up your chosen Zap, please contact support@accredible.com.
Example Zap
- Click on "Create Zap" on the top left-hand corner of your Zapier homepage.
- To create a trigger you will first need to determine:
a) The app you wish the app event to originate from
b) The trigger event
Once you have selected the above, click "Continue". - Follow the prompts by Zapier to connect your chosen account, and select "Continue".
- Select your desired options from the drop-down menus to complete trigger set up, and click "Continue".
- To ensure the trigger has been set up correctly, click "Test trigger". Once Zapier has identified data that can be tested, click "Continue".
- It's now time to set up an action! This is an event a Zap performs after it starts. To create an action you will first need to determine:
b) The action event
Once you have selected the above, click "Continue". - Follow the prompts by Zapier to connect your chosen account, and select "Continue".
- You will now have the opportunity to fill in a series of fields, some of which are mandatory. You can select what data from your connected app you wish to provide this information:
Field Name | Mandatory? | Description |
Cohort Name | Yes | This is the name of the group in Accredible you wish the credential to be created in. If you have not yet created a group, please review this article: How Do I Create a Group? |
Recipient Name | Yes | This is the name of the individual receiving the certificate. |
Recipient Email | Yes | This is the email address of the individual receiving the certificate. |
Course Name |
No | This is the name of the course or achievement that the certificate is for, and will be displayed on and below the certificates. Whatever you put in this field will also populate the attribute [group.course_name] on your certificate design. If you leave this field blank it will be populated by the "Display Name" in the Accredible Group Settings. |
Course Description | No | This is the description of the course or achievement that the certificate is for. It will allow you to expand upon what your credential means, what it qualifies your recipients to do, or include any other information you feel is useful or relevant for your recipients and potential employers. If you leave this field blank it will be populated by the "Description" in the Accredible Group Settings. |
Issue Date | No | This is the date from which the certificate is valid. If you wish this to be the date the Zap was triggered, leave this field blank. |
Expiry Date | No | This is the date until which the certificate is valid. When a credential is expired, the credential remains available to view on credential.net; however, it will then be visually identified as expired to anyone viewing it. It can no longer be verified. You can read more about expiries here: What Happens When Credentials Expire? |
Grade | No | Providing data here will populate the default [credential.grade] attribute. |
Attributes | No | Attributes act as placeholders for information on your certificate designs. If you have a custom attribute you would like to populate using your Zap, you can do so here: For example, to populate the custom text attribute [custom.passed] you would need to input "Passed" into the left-hand field below "Attributes". |
Recipient Sync Id | No | This is the recipient's user ID as defined by your organization. It allows you to easily map your recipients to their Credentials regardless of changes to their email addresses. This will populate the [credential.license_id] attribute in Accredible. |
Unique Custom Identifier |
No |
The unique ID of the credential. If you supply your own internal ID we'll use this as a reference for the Credential. If not we'll assign a completely unique ID. This will populate the [credential.id] attribute in Accredible. |
Publish Credential | No |
You can select "True" or "False" to determine whether or not the credential is published at the time of creation. By default this is set to true, but the settings in your Accredible dashboard take precedence. To access these settings in your Accredible dashboard, do the following:
|
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you wish "Course Name" and "Course Description" from your Zap to be used instead of the "Display Name" and "Description" in your Accredible Group Settings you will need to enable the "Create these credentials via API" option. This can be found under "API & Integrations" in your group's Advanced Settings.
9. Once you have inputted the required information, click "Continue".
10. To ensure the action has been set up correctly, select either "Test and Review" or "Test and Continue". If successful, a certificate will be sent to Accredible.
11. Once you are happy with your Zap, click "Publish Zap".
Important Note: If you are attempting to use an Accredible Sandbox account in a Zap, you will need to use a separate Zapier app to connect to Accredible. Please contact support@accredible.com to be invited to this app.
