The 'Linked Email' function is good for consolidating credentials, but for not updating the email addresses on your credentials.
What Does the 'Linked Email' Feature Do?
Each credential on the Accredible System is attached to a single email address. If you have multiple credentials, with some attached to one email address and the rest attached to another, there are two things you can do to consolidate them into one wallet.
By using the 'Linked Email' feature, you are asking the system to show credentials belonging to two different email addresses in the same wallet, side by side.
Important Note: The 'Linked Email' feature does not update the email address attached to your credentials.
It is a common mistake that you can link email addresses in the credential wallet, then delete the secondary email address. Because some of your credentials are still attached to that email address, they cannot be deleted.
Even if you have moved all your credentials off the secondary email address because of security and technical issues related to digital credentials, Accredible is not currently able to delete secondary email addresses from credential wallets. Please bear this in mind before linking an email address to your credential wallet.
Update the Email Address on your Credentials
You can move all your credentials to one email address and have them appear in one wallet without having to link email addresses. For more information on how to do this, here is our article: How Do I Change the Email Address Attached to My Certificate?
We highly recommend updating the email addresses attached to your credentials.
I Can't Delete My Secondary Email
Because of security and technical issues related to digital credentials, Accredible cannot delete secondary email addresses from credential wallets. Please bear this in mind before linking an email address to your credential wallet.
